— Conditions We Treat
Reduce Hip Pain. Restore Strength. Move with Confidence.

— About This Condition
The hip labrum is a ring of cartilage around the hip socket that helps stabilise the joint, distribute load and support smooth movement.
Labral tears can develop following injury, repetitive loading or alongside conditions such as femoroacetabular impingement (FAI).
Importantly, labral changes can also appear on imaging without causing pain. That’s why your symptoms and how your hip functions matter—not simply what appears on a scan.
Labral symptoms often develop through a combination of hip structure, movement and loading factors. Contributing factors may include acute injury or twisting, repetitive hip loading, running/kicking/pivoting sports, and femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), hip instability or increased joint mobility. Rather than focusing on the tear alone, we identify the factors contributing to your symptoms.
— RECOGNISE THE SIGNS

A deep, hard-to-pinpoint ache in the hip or groin region.

A clicking, catching or locking sensation within the hip joint.

Sharp pinching pain when sitting for long periods or moving into deep hip flexion.

Reduced range of motion or a stiff, restricted feeling in the hip.

Discomfort triggered by squatting, lunging or rotating through the hip.

Pain that increases with running or quick changes of direction.
— WHY EARLY ASSESSMENT MATTERS
We don’t assess an MRI in isolation — we assess you and how your hip functions.

— YOUR RECOVERY JOURNEY
Following your assessment, we’ll develop a personalised recovery plan tailored to your injury, lifestyle and goals.
Complete rest is rarely the answer.
We identify movements that repeatedly irritate your hip and modify them while keeping you active. This may include temporarily adjusting deep squatting, lunging, prolonged sitting, pivoting or higher-load exercise.
Our goal isn't simply to reduce pain—it's to build a stronger, better-controlled hip that can confidently handle the demands placed upon it.
Progressive rehabilitation targets the gluteals, hip muscles and trunk to improve strength, stability and control.
As symptoms improve, we progress into single-leg loading, squatting, stepping, running and more demanding movements relevant to your lifestyle or sport.
Your program is built around what your hip needs to do—not a generic exercise routine.
Whether your goal is walking comfortably, returning to the gym, running or sport, rehabilitation is progressively tailored to those demands.
Following hip arthroscopy or labral repair, rehabilitation is progressed according to your procedure, surgeon's protocol and recovery.
At KVP, we progressively restore:
✔ Hip movement and walking
✔ Hip and gluteal strength
✔ Balance and single-leg control
✔ Functional and gym-based strength
✔ Running and sport-specific capacity
Our goal is to guide you safely from the early post-operative stages through to restoring strength, movement and confidence.
Not necessarily. Many people improve with structured physiotherapy, load management and progressive strengthening. If symptoms remain significantly limiting despite appropriate rehabilitation, further imaging or specialist review may be considered. If surgery is required, KVP can support both your pre-operative preparation and post-operative rehabilitation.

Yes. Many people can improve their pain and function through load management, progressive strengthening and movement retraining.
Not necessarily. Clicking alone is common. Painful clicking, catching or locking—particularly with deep groin pain—may warrant assessment.
Usually not. We modify aggravating loads while maintaining activities your hip can comfortably tolerate.
Not always. Imaging is most useful when interpreted alongside your symptoms and clinical assessment.
